Unable to add or edit address in front end

We have just bult a new site and all was working fine until suddenly nobody is able to add or edit an address.

If you try to add one in the shopping cart you get an error saying your address is wrong with a button to edit it. If you press the button you get a 404 page and just go round in a circle/

Alternatlively trying to add an address in the MyAccount section says address saved but there's nothing there

Can anyone help please as at the moment nobody can order anything ?!
