[SOLVED] Emoji into email subject (PS8)

I'm trying to add emoji to email subjects, but from International >> Translations after saving the new subject with the emoji, show a ? instead.

Do you know if there's a way to add emoji?

Have you tried refreshing the page after adding the emoji?
Because I tried with a lot of emoji, including 😀 and after refreshing the face I see a ? instead of the emoji.

Is it a fresh PS 8 or migrated?

It's PS8.0.4 upgraded from PS1.7.7

Check the encoding of your database and of the ps_mail table.

ps_mail table it's "utf8mb4_general_ci".

Other tables are "utf8mb4_general_ci" or "utf8_general_ci"

Hi @idnovate.com sorry for the late reply but I missed the notify about your message.

I just checked and this was my "ps_translation" encoding:
 

Changing "utf8_unicode_ci" to "utf8mb4_unicode_ci" fixed the problem... Now emoji are stored correctly.
