Need Some feedback on my furniture store

hi, dear all, I have a online furniture store in Prestashop.

can you please have a look and advise if something need to be done to improve the look?

my website: 6 door wardrobe

Well you have the same issues most shops have.

The owner needs people seeing most items he sells. While the user gets confused by too much to offer. Each internal link contributes to the caos.

Keyword density is:

mattresses    31    3.3%

bedroom    22    2.4%

dining    22    2.4%

tables    18    1.9%

leather    17    1.8%

You don't mention renting no sales in your shop,

Create max 6 categories and sort your products accordingly.

Hi @adamthomson123

great work, you did the most important work, building a product catalog before worrying about 3rd party theme installation, logo etc.

at this point you are ready to refine parts, for example

category page: (most important)

work on your filters, (faceted search, include cats/subcats so you can remove the 'menu' cats, when they click menu cat they leave their landing page.  With category/sub  category as filter, then they stay on landing page and focused..  faceted search is the main reason to want prestashop,  refining your faceted search with by cat templates will create a much more seamless visitor experience.

as an agency since 2009, it always makes me happy to see someone build a robust catalog.

some advice, google knows when your  shop is visited, how many pages but more importantly if checkout was completed, that's true seo so be careful not to get advices on other seo...

my advice for future is to hire agency to upgrade your front end with 'high quality' feature rich theme with tuned above the fold visitors experience...Leo Themes are very nice....

Cheers,

Fred

hi, thanks for your advise, the biggest problem is budget. how much money do I need to hire agency? if I want to get ranked in Google and getting some sales.

and want to upgrade to latest prestashop version with new theme?

I hear that alot, budget.  Shopify is a better choice for one person shops that have  budget.  PS module eco basically is pretty terrible made worse by free modules offered here on the forum, so people like us have not real incentive to even put our modules on addons...so be warned...don't go module crazy unless you have a development copy  to test on first, most don't work out of box.

As mentioned work on your catalog, improve your filtering, think how when they land on a category they can find everything in the store without leaving that page.

Then look at shops you aspire to, in your product vertical, look for features that make them successful.  Make a list of them, when ready determine if you are able to do something similar on your own or  if you  will need help.  (make sure to keep farily current development copy of your shop to test before going live)....

To make really good money you need good agency, not someone recommending seo work, but how to make best in class visitor experience.

best of luck

like we have more than 50 categories in the website, shall we remove all of them and make only main categories? thats what you mean?

How is your client profile?

I'd merge categories and n a way to bundle some categories. The more you have the better its to diversify.

I do not agree that this is helpful advice and should be ignored.  my two cents, Nickz spend more than 15 seconds responding, if to buy then dont.

I find myself disagreeing with you when you do not back up your comments with some detail.  Most do not agree or most do disagree?  again put some  time into your comment.

Can  you provide detail to back this up?  And when suggesting someone do this you should at a minimum let them know the large amount of rewrites required... if they follow your advice without rewrites, is a disaster....so make sure when  giving advice, you follow through

me and you been here before...I thought I got you on track a while back

you will never be anything but a beginner with PS, but you are a product vertical expert...here is one client in similar vertical...but we have built many others...I was shocked/pleased you were able to take it as far as you have, most do not make it this far.

message me your email address and I can provide better feedback and build you a roadmap.

hi

dear PrestasHeroes USA,
thanks for your compliments. my email address is [email protected]

you failed the test, you were supposed to message me looool

I highly recommend contacting PrestaChamps, they be able to help you upgrade your front and all the other things you will need for your product vertical and demographic.  once you have new high quality theme installed and configured, then you will need google shopping....for this product vertical in UK, it's a must.  They will get you started and help you grow your front office organically with the right features.

hi

dear Zohaib,

thanks for your comments, SSL is working fine on latest version of windows, Chrome and Firfox Browser. it shows an error on older version of google chrome.

we shall remove the duplicate "Pound" from the currency section.

we want to customize the order page to one page. many customers do not complete the order and leave at the end on payment page. may be that is because of the complicated and lengthy process of completing an order?

if you add an item to the cart and advise us what changes need to be made in the order process page?

we are grateful for your time in this regard.

kind regards

Dear Adam Thomson,

I registered on your website and found the order works fine for me. Attached is a screenshot for your reference.

SSL is working fine now from my side.

You can try a free tool named hotjar, it will help you to understand user Behavior, Improved User Experience,Conversion Rate Optimization, Visitor Feedback, A/B Testing and Identifying Bugs and Technical Issues. I have a custom html module, that will help to add the hotjar widget code in the head tag of all pages. The below demo instance link has an example.

Dear Adam Thomson,

It is easy to do. You can use my module from the below link or add widget code or tracking code from Hotjar OR Statcounter OR Google Analytics OR any other software in the theme head.tpl file. My module will allow you to add on selected pages and selected languages.

when visitor lands on a category study show that keeping  on that same page to drill down to products increases buy

for your categoreis you use ps tree which pushed down your filter system and when clicked navigates to new page.

1)update filetes to include categories

2) disable ps tree
