beepow
Hello everybody, we are having several problems with the MyPresta's "Customer register spam protection" module. We're trying to write here because after six messages we still haven't received a response since March 21st. Before asking for a refund we would prefer to find a solution instead. The module does not block the IP of those who register repeatedly, even after hundreds of registrations. This happens even though we have set the ip block. And, yes, there's also the anti-flood system set. In order to solve this problem we had to add an ip range in the htaccess file, since only the registrations were blocked but the ban did not happen and the attempts had not stopped. But it can't be a real solution... But there is another problem and it is even bigger: many users, since we have installed this module, are failing to register. Someone contacts us, someone else leaves and we lose them as customers . You need to whitelist them to allow registration and purchases... Again: this can't be a solution! The most common error they encounter is a "technical" error. Most likely "TECHNICAL ERROR: unable to load form. Details: Error thrown: [object Object] Text status: parsererror". Sometimes at the real first step (after inserting their mail), sometimes during last step... We have not been able to replicate the problem except behind a vpn, with anonymized browser (with the error reported above). The Prestashop version we use is 1.6.1.14 (default theme). Do you have any suggestions or directions? Thank you.

Hello, do you mean the ones that I've blocked with htaccess? Well, there are hundreds of registrations per day from the same ip... Mail addresses are all fake (name-number@gmail)... beepow
They are all like in the attached example. The NAME of these users (before the Module blocked the registrations) was "IOOOOO-DOLLARS-PAYOUT-YOUR-NAME" for all of them. While the surname used to be some-russian-site.ru. So, the surname (site) was not always the same, the name (first name) was....

beepow
Thank you very much endriu107. Tomorrow morning I will look at this solution! So with this fix can we eliminate the module (and ask for a refund, considering the problems it's causing us)?
endriu107
This fix will block some accounts where first or last name have specific signs and words. I can't tell you it will fix all spam account but most of them for sure.

beepow
Hello endriu107, I'm trying to use the script but I'm having a 500 error when I try to register (after sending the details from registration form) in PS 1.6...
endriu107
Turn on debug mode, there should be displayed errors that should point where the issue is.
