Prestashop 8.0.2 - No Module Update Notifications in BO? [solved]

Hi,

Since Prestashop 8.0.1, I believe, I haven't received any update notifications in the back office area for new module versions, although I can see that it has been released new versions to some modules (when looking at the addons marketplace and github).

It always says "0" in the red notification on the modules page.

For example some Prestashop Official modules had newer versions dating back a couple of months.

I have upgraded these manually for now.

What could be the cause for this? I have notifications turned on in BO.

I installed a fresh Prestashop 8.0.3 today to see the difference, and received three updates in the Back Office > Module Manager:

Official GDPR Compliance 1.4.3 to 2.0.0

Google Analytics 4.2.1 to 4.2.2

Google Sitemap 4.2.1 to 4.3.0

BUT in my main site, which now also runs with Prestashop 8.0.3, since I updated it, DOES NOT display any new updates (no notifications whatsoever). I have the old versions of the above three modules (and probably other modules as well).

What could be causing this? What may be blocking the site from comparing the modules versions with Prestashop?

Hi,

So I figured it out, ooops

The module "Distribution API Client" wasn't installed somehow, it must have been uninstalled during the upgrade from 1.7.x.x to 8.0.x.

Had no idea that this module was required for the module update notifications to work, since the setting in backend was correct. Maybe there should be a tip or light instructions on that page, to describe that this modules is required.

That's interesting - I didn't know of that association either. In my case, I have notifications of new module updates, but they will not complete (always an error, meaning I have to do so manually). My API Client is installed so that isn't the solution for me. I'm running 8.0.3 and php 8.1 (my update from 8.0.2 went smoothly and also updated those same modules)

For modules comes from the open source project, you need the ps_distributionapiclient module

For others modules comes from PrestaShop Addons marketplace, you need the ps_mbo module
