bruce-rez
When I upload my PrestaShop 1.4.1.0 website from localhost to live server and I get this message:" Link to database cannot be established."I am dealing with this problem for more than a week, Googling, looking for a solution in the forum and tried almost everything without success.I've already uploaded with v.1.4.17 with success from localhost to live server.I do not understand why it's not working with 1.4.1.Why this is so complicated and time consuming? How is the correct/right process to upload the website from Localhost to Live server? Please help and advice, I am sure lot of people have this problem. That would be great and helpful if we can have as a sticky in the forum.Thank you in advance for any assistance or help. My website is working correctly in localhost, that means I have the right link to database in my config/settings.inc.php file, please see screen shot.I uploaded all the files of my website into live server, that's all I did.1-Now my question: what is the next step?I heard that I need to modify the config/settings.inc.php when going to live server.2-What exactly do I need to modify? Thanks. tomerg3
try to delete your htaccess file, and make sure the first variable in the config file (PATH) is set to / (unless it's in a subfolder)
bruce-rez
It worked.Removing the Shop domain name in BO and regenerate a new htaccess fixed the problem. FO is now showing up.Merci anyway.

TiMa123
You'll have to change the Shop URL from localhost to your current site in your database in order to prevent redirects. The table to edit is ps_config
