creating ps to demo modules

at some point we lost the capability to easily create ps demo for our modules,  we used to use permissions and 'demo  switch' in our modules to deny update, i.e. demo mode no updates allowed.

 what if any more modern techniques have others found to create a ps demo?

I'll pay 100usd if I use your solution, heck I might even hire you....we have dozens of high quality modules, but we suck at marketing them....now I provide growth service but would not mind going back  to good old days in PS when I only provide module solutions.
