Handle all combinations of a product as a single product in stock

Hi there, im new here...

Is there a way to handle all combinations of a product as a single product in stock? I need this as im planning to offer products manufactured on demand, based on customers requirements... These are limited number of copies products, so lets say limited to 3 copies, but want them to be available with different attributes to manufacture... so with 28 combinations if i have 2 numbers of copies, in stock it makes 56 units...

Can be this handled like: one unit of a  product with 10 000 combinations is still only one unit of a product?
