Unable to delete module - Cannot uninstall module (MODULENAME). The module is not installed.

Hi,

I was having issue with a payment gateway module so I tried installing an older version of it while the new one was on the website. It created more issues, and so I deleted the folders from /modules to get rid of it as I was unable to access my backend anymore.

Now, the module is still showing in my modules page and I can still configure it.

I am getting "Cannot uninstall module (MODULENAME). The module is not installed." when I try to uninstall from back end. How do I completely get rid of it?

Edit: in debug mode the following was shown - "Exception thrown by module (MODULENAME) on uninstall. Table 'DBNAME.ps_MODULENAME' doesn't exist"

delete "var/cache"

also check overrides folder for any leftovers of those modules. You need to check your modules zip file and if they have overrides you need to delete them manually from you shop

Due to the table notification, you are kindly requested to check if there is some sql query which is supposed to be executed on uninstall.
If you dont give us more details, we will never be able to assist you more accurately.
