Unable to update or create products

Hello. I'm having this issue that when wanting to update an existing product or create a new one (doesn't matter the category) it gives the message "Unable to update settings".
This is not a new error but i haven't managed to find out the culprit of this error or a solution and it pretty much happened by itself. The last thing i remember doing is to import through csv some products (which had empty columns deleted from the sheet)

I was using the version 1.7.8.5 up until yesterday and then updated to 1.7.8.6 to see if the error dissappears but it didn't.
Permisions on folders and files are correctly set so no idea why it gives the 403error.
