Product combination shows pictures even when it doesn't have any

Hello, I'm trying to import combinations and their images for my products from csv. Not all combinations have the Image field, so I have a product with 4 color combinations from which 2 don't have any images mapped to them (they are not in database either). Even though they have no images linked, they still show the image of the first combination that does have images (even when it's not the default combination).

Is it possible to not show these default images on combinations, that shouldn't have an image?

I'm sure there is a way of doing it by changing a.tpl or .css or some other such file.....but why not just just a 'no-image' image...
