[SOLVED] "500 Internal Server Error" - PayPal Module - 1.3.1>1.4.1

Hey guys,

After upgrading from v1.3.1 to v1.4.1 I encounter a problem with my PayPal module.
When I click on the PayPal option and the end of the ordering process I have the following error message.

"Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

I did off course configure the module with the API codes from my PayPal account, did reinitialise the PayPal module, but nothing helps. The same problem occurs with PayPal module sandbox turned on or off.



After 6 hours of trying to find what is causing this bug, my eyes are red swollen and I'm going nuts.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, sorry to up the topic but I found the solution.

My host "PlanetHoster" pointed me to the error. I had my Paypal module files on CHMOD 777 while they should have been on CHMOD 644.
Since I made these changes everything turned normal again.

Thanks to their support team my clients can finish their orders now.

or use a older version like PayPal v2.8.7 de PrestaShop working like charm

Hello, and thank you for posting the solution. Permissions can be a culprit in many different errors with modules.
