Frequently timeout - index search

Good morning,

on our site pharmacianazionale.com many functions generate a system timeout. For example, rebuilding the search index. This means that many times my customers no longer find products on the site because the system has indexed only a few hundred out of approximately 51,000.

Nobody can understand the problem. I ask for help here.

I have the same issue with version 1.7.8.2.
Only workaround that I found is to run multiple cronjobs
In the script it is written this job should last up to 2 hours before closing, but I see it stops after a few minutes.

Hi.

The problem is in the performance and settings of your web hosting or server (limits). The more goods, combinations... the higher the hosting parameters.

I have my own dedicated server, only 5000 products each on 3 shops and no combinations.

what are your suggested settings to look  out for?

 

help much appreciated. Issue is becoming more frequent by the day. I had to switch off filter by availabilty entirely, because that crashed everthing.
