Redirect HTTP to HTTPS

Hello,

I hope you're fine. 

I have a problem with my website.

Currently i have 2 URLs, one with HTTP and one with HTTPS.

I want the HTTP one to redirect on the HTTPS page. 

I saw on google that it can be done in the .htaccess file with :

 Redirect permanent /  https://domain.fr/

 

But i have no idea where i must put this line. 

I tried several location in the file and it ended up with my site not loading anymore. 

Any advice or tips ?
