How to create product variants in custom module

Hi, 

I am currently working on custom module. The purpose of it's to allow user to select amount, and production mode with some parameters along the way. 

I have managed to do all configs, front views etc. But now I am wondering how to make product variants. For example: if user clicks on let's say "Mode 1" the price changes to "xxx". When user clicks on "Amount: 100" the price changes as well. 

How would you go about it? Modify url? Or maybe do it with JS - but I guess this is not the safest option available there. I attach screenshoot of how it looks on front end.

Any help would be highly appreciated!
