Uncertainties about the Prestashop multistore function

Hi, I have a Prestashop installation on the example.com domain and I need to create a second dedicated ecommerce for b2b. I want to use the Prestashop Multistore function, which in some tests I managed to configure correctly on virtual URL.

However as I will have to modify some files such as the index to force access to view the site, I need a physical url for ftp.

What I am wondering is how does the configuration with physical url work?

Once a physical URL of a folder created in the directory has been associated, does the physical installation of prestashop not take place automatically? Or in that folder, do I have to install prestashop myself?
