Upgrade option is greyed out!!!

Recommended Posts

Anybody know how I can "un-grey" the Upgrade option??

It shows the following, but greyed out,

"Update: Get the latest stable version (installed version detected : 1.1.0.5)"

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. I've already moved over my files from the img folder and modules, includign the settings.inc.php file (into the config directory). I've then CHMODed all directories and sub-directories according to the original install instructions.

Thanks,

Robert

I've already mentioned that I've done so in my post...

Oh well, I tried many things and decided to just install it from scratch instead of upgrading and just migrated the database and everything works fine. I actually recommend a clean install over upgrading, now that I've done so.

Anybody attempting a clean install, be sure to backup first (files and database).

I have the same problem (grayed out) , as I upgrade from one SVN version to another..

As regards the previous posts, but if one does a fresh install, the previous DB is lost. If one maintains the old DB, then the DB structure is not updated (i.e. install-dev/sql/upgrade/*). So an update seems essential to me.

It would be useful to understand under what criteria the Update line is greyed out.

^ as above new installation is not an option for me. I want my old DB.
Problem I have also is even after copying over settings.inc.php and setting permissions to 777 the "update" option remains greyed out.

its ok found the answer. PS_VERSION was showing as the new version. whats there to update to then:-)so just put in the old version in settings.inc.php and hey presto!

and in the /install-dev/sql/upgrade all i see are files with and i see the 1.3.0.1 and 1.2.5.0 and such.. what do those have to do with upgrading db instead of doing fresh install. would i start at the current verions im using and execute those commands to my db until i reach the latest version? and if im using the latest SNV version.. would i execute the 1.3.0.1 then install the SNV or does the latest SNV use the 1.3.0.1 as base and then has few more changes in install ?
