babyewok
I am running PS 1.7.6.1 and am attempting to migrate servers. A temporary domain was set up on the new server to test the site before changing the dns for the live domain. I did all the usual - disabled SSL (not set up yet on new server), disabled cache, changed shop urls in the back office and disabled friendly urls before backing up and moving all files, database, etc. On the new server, I deleted the files on var/cache, set correct file permissions and changed the parameters.php file to reflect the new database details. The new server is running the same PHP version that the old server was (and was working perfectly ok on). I can access the front office, no problem but get a 500 error on the back office. Even with debug mode on, no errors are shown, just the default browser 500 page! Help! I am at a loss for what to try next!
babyewok
Should say directories are chmod 755 recursively and files are 644. Also tried renaming the htacess file to no avail!
babyewok
I actually found that deleting the htaccess file in the admin folder fixed it. It was due to the multiviews setting. Will this htaccess file be recreated or do I need to edit it and reinstate it?
