Abnormal id insertion in the product_shop table, is this a bug?

Hi everyone, I've been looking for a post but I don't think I've found it.

I noticed that every time I click on I add a new product in the BO, automatically the product_shop table in the PS version. 1.7.8.0 increases by an id even without inserting the product and saving it in the BO.

Is it a bug? Does it only happen to me?

Otherwise I think it would be a problem to face because having null id means you can enlarge the DB without an apparent sense.
