Can I upgrade modules without losing my work?

I upgraded my version to the latest version 1.7.7.8 and some modules I can't upgrade  in back-office only in manual mode ( I buy it from addons ) but this way I lose my work and go back to standard mode.
Does anyone have an idea, please?

in the case like this I export the db tables of the concerned module and I import the db after the update

Note: This is just an example and I found the solution and I mean in other modules when i press upgrade this what i get and I have it .zip
