Error message - Unable to update settings - in product page prestashop 1.7.7.6 & 7

I am getting error message  'Unable to update settings' when trying to update product in BO. Then the Save button is greyed out, till you refresh the screen.

But mysteriously, it has added a 2nd category. If you change something again on the  page it will add a 3rd random category.

Not sure why, any ideas please

PhP version? Could be also related to your internet browser, try on others. I'm getting this from time to time. Cache clean do the job for me.

Hi - I am using php 7.3

Also used Chrome and Firefox, still the same result.
