How to add an extra tab in products?

Hello!

Anyone have any idea how to add an extra tab in the product page?

I have the " More Details" tab which is the text info for the products, the " Data Sheet" tab and I need an extra tab for "Documents", where I will put some pdf files.

Any suggestion will help.

if you want do this dynamically, you will need a new module or some customization development.
if you want to hard coding this that applied to all products, you can add the tab and contents at product theme file.

YourSiteRoot/themes/YourSiteThem/product.tpl

You can use the module Extra tabs, that allot to put an extra tab to all products

I just tested Extra Tab, but the new tab is the same for all products! I need something like that, but with a different content for each product. Way better if different texts for each language, since my site uses 3 different languages. But this language selection I can handle myself, the important would be a different text for each product.

Do you know some any modules for that?

Well, after days trying to add an extra tab with some text, I give up. Tried everything I found in this forum and nothing works like it should.

i am not sure, if any module is available for this functionality. moreover it seems that it needs the custom coding. We can help you on this to achieve , you can contact us from our "request a quote" page

We just did such type of things - creating extra tab "Quantity Price Break" for "Group Wise Quantity Price Break", it will display when there is price break for any product, if price break not available then this tab will not display. But we all do the product for product info page - nothing for this tab on admin side, and i don't think anything is available for now. But i guess, as we did 50% of the things, we can do the remaining 50% in admin side so it would be dynamic.

if you guys looking for such module and if you place the pre-order with us , we can go for that. For now if you just have to contact us by "request a quote" page, so that we can start development on it

Which presta version ? I was using in my 1.3. a module which needs your requirements - conseil product utilisation, i.e. also called block product utilisation. Perhaps if you are using 1.3. you can buy it in here: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewreply/380724/

In 1.4. it does not work anymore and developer does not answer too. So I'm again looking for such a module.

Thank you for your reply. I would be happy to pay for a module with this basic functionality:

1) Add extra tab for text descriptions.

2) The edition should be done and work just like in the product description of Prestashop, and not having to tweak codes for your this task.

3) If you add a description, a Tab will be added for that specific product, and the flags of languages selection will be available for translation in each language used. Just like the Prestashop description.

Once again, I don't now why this don't have this in the first place. It's a so basic function!

And that Data sheet system is useless for me, and you don't even is able to sort the functions the way you need without code tweaking!

I garant you that the module of bretagne was working till 1.3.6. Now I'm desperate, because it does not work anymore, not on BO, and I have to made some changes in descriptions. Finally I did it on the DB and not on BO. But this is nota solution. As I'm not yet in production and my 1.3. version is still updated to 1.4.01.7 which has to be gone in production in some weeks I'm looking for replace.

sorry, but I cannot send you screens because I have all updated to 1.4.0.17. And fronted I'm now using standard presta theme, because my old one was not smarty3 compatible. As i said, it does not work anymore with 1.4.X

I found another post, for which you must adapt your file. I tried, but it does not work for me too. Also the files posted there are old 1.3. code, and sorry I don't want to include old code in new files. What I want is like you: a module (without any code changes) which works in 1.4. and garanted updateds for less 1.5. I will also pay for it, but it mus work without problems.
I don't have enough time and know-how to play with codes I'm only a merchant.

In the description is nothing mentioned about running presta versions. Does it work with 1.4.X ? Do I need adapt some code ? Will you give assistance for some presta updates if necessary.

The other module I bought, in fact i never used, because my presta is not yet online. Now the developer also do not anser any mail or PM I sent.

Why are you not using the attachments tab for this? this allows you to attach documents such as pdf's for download. You simply upload the pdfs in the back office and then in the back office product page select the pdfs / attachments you want to appear in the attachments tab for that product. If you do not want the tab to be labelled attachments then you can change it to be called whatever you want (such as "documents") in the product.tpl file.
