Module manager - Problems enabling and disabling modules

When I enable/disable an existing module, I expect to see a green notification on the same page which informs me that the operation is successful. However, the page keeps redirecting to show the json output.



Any idea why this is happening and how to resolve it? I am using prestashop 1.7.7.4 and the issue is not specific to one module.
