[SOLVED] Forbiden when adding or editing products, but only some times....

Recommended Posts

Hello all, my first post here, would of had LOADS by now but most of my problems have been easily fixed by doing a quick search on the forum... except this one!

Have been using 1.4 since it came out and have a problem with it giving me a 403 forbidden message when adding a product description...

I have turned on the debug and display errors but nothing comes up.

I know normally that would be a file permission error but it doesnt do it all the time and I cant work out a pattern for it happening. it makes no difference whether im copying and pasting from word or notepad and the only way round it seems to be to go directly in to the SQL database and edit it, after which it will continue to give me the error when trying to update the price or images....

Hope ive made my self clear there, I tend to go round and round in circles when im explaining things!

Thanks in advance for any assistance!
Jamie

Hi Piccoro,

What sort of descriptions are you using with your products? Its very possible you may be running into the same issue, so I'm curious what you're writing for your store.

Wow, such a fast reply by an Admin, I am honored ;)

Well, my website is for a computer store, so the word "webcam" appears a lot!

Recently our web host changed security, and we've been having a lot of problems. We found this error when trying to update a laptop description (with the word "webcam", of course) and got a "403 forbidden" error.

After reading hopewell10's post, I tried adding a new product without that word, and it worked! The error only appears when "webcam" is in there (Title, short description, anywhere).

You can take a look at the website, if you'd like: http://entertirso.pt/

I wonder if I can ask the web host to change those black-listed words...

Thank you, anyway!
