Sarasys
Hi, friends Is anyone here using version 7.2 PHP on Prestashop 1.6.1.24? For some reason I needed to upgrade my PHP version from 7.1 to 7.2 and there was no problem although I know this version of PrestaShop supports PHP version 7.1. Do you think this will be a problem for my store later?
joseantgv
The last version from the repository is (https://github.com/PrestaShop/PrestaShop-1.6). It was updated by volunteers and not officially released by PrestaShop. Edited November 9, 2022 by joseantgv (see edit history)

A Bit of Home
I have run into a problem running PHP 7.2 on my PS 1.6.1.24 store. Trying to access the CMS pages from admin for editing returns a HTTP 500 error. No problem on PHP 7.1. I wanted to upgrade the PHP version so I can install PS v8 in a subdomain to develop as a replacement for the old store. Sadly PS v8 is not supported on PHP 7.1 so I am kind of stuck as to what to do.

I tried to upgrade my PS 1.6.1.24 to 1.7.8.11 and the Softaculous says: "PHP version is less than the required 7.2.0 Do you wish to enable PHP 7.2.34 ? (Might cause issues with your existing installations)." And with that enabled, the backoffice login disappeared totally! Had to get back with 1.6.1.24 with PHP 7.1 - that works fine. Just wondering how on earth am I able to upgrade my PS in order to have the chance to build up the new store alongside with the old one...
