Update database using CSV

Hi guys,

I'd wish to ask if anyone has sorted out the procedure of combination update using CSV file? Over the time I could not find a comprehensive answer how exactly do you update product combinations.

The requirement is to update only combination's stock field or MNP, for example. I don't really need to create any new combinations using import - just to update an existing ones.

In some places users say you can use a reference field to identify and update existing product combination, however it's confusing as first of all the platform requires to set attributes and their values which is irrelevant if you're only willing to update stock level of the existing combination.

I tried to define attribute and value columns and leave them just empty, which indeed allows me to perform the import but then again no data is actually updated in database.

I tried to identify a combination using it's reference, then I tried ID, however neither of these actually updates the data in DB.

 

If anyone can recommend anything please share the knowledge
