[Solved] My store is not importing products, what cud b the issue

I have a list of +- 1500 products. I have reduced the .cvs to adding 250 at one time.

I click import for the 250 and wait and wait and wait.... until the browser eventually timesout and it does not import a single product.

I have been trying to add since last night. Any help on this one? Using 1.4.017 and this is the first time I am importing to the 1.4 store.

Anything I should do differently?

: 4got 2 change file permissions = 755 & active = 1 *blush*

if you dont mind me asking. did u get it to work, and how? I created an active 0/1 column and put everything as 1 for active. Do you need to specifically and manually chmodd something to get it to work? I am trying to import 20 categories and the page just goes to server 500 error
