PrestaShop Metrics issue.

PrestaShop 1.7.7.3
PrestaShop Metrics v1.3.3 (reinstalled twice)

Server info:
FreeBSD 12.2-RELEASE-p2 amd64
Server: Apache/N-G-I-N-X-htaccess-support
PHP: 7.3.23
MySQL: 5.7.31-34-log

After updating PS from 1.7.7.2 to 1.7.7.3 - I cannot get PrestaShop Metrics to work without issues.
Entering BackOffice desktop with enabled PS Metrics = no data + email about error occured
In PS logs I can see only Internal Server Error.
Debugging Mode doesn't help me, as debug tool doesn't load itself after entering BackOffice Desktop.

Checked server for errors, but didn't found any.

Can anyone help me?

I will use this thread to post my issues with the PS Metrics module, since the support for the module is extremely slow and not helpful at all. Maybe here they can get a clearer list of issues of the module, since we cannot report them on Github.

Issue number 1: On Prestashop 1.6.1.24 I upgraded the module today from 1.3.3 to 2.0.2 (it says on Addons it is compatible from PS 1.6.1.0). After updating, I cannot use my back office, I get this error:

I fixed it "uninstalling" the module via FTP, but really.... they should test the module better before releasing updates.

Hopefully somebody from the team can answer our questions.

Issue number 2, after updating from 1.3.3 to 2.0.2 on 2 different Prestashop 1.7.7.4 sites, I get this error on the module configuration, although the module stats show fine:

I also have had this problem for along time with "Oops! Something went wrong". But now at least I get a sensible log with severity (127). "cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem: certificate has expired".

This makes sense but how to renew the certificate?

I'm on some linux server in a shared environment with Cpanel. PS Metrics 2.0.2, ps_accounts.display_name 4.0.0, PS Eventbus 1.4.0

Note that from 1.7.7.3 Prestashop installs the ps_metrics and ps_accounts modules automatically when you install Prestashop or upgrade to that version. This seems to happen dynamically from the PS website: the modules are not present in the 1.7.7.3 zip file.

Today I upgraded from 2.02. to 2.1.1 on 2 of my Prestashop 1.7 sites (latest version), and this is the result... I don't expect to get help here, I am just trying to warn people about all the issues this module still has:

Yes I did

The version installed automatically is 1.3.3, then I realized that the latest version on Prestashop Addon Marketplace is 2.1.2. That's why I wanted to make the upgrade.

I can see the upgrade available on BackOffice, but it asks me to log in to the Marketplace and after login in I can't see the upgrade available anymore. Then I went to download it and upgrade it manually, but it shows an error without explanation.

Dude, don’t confuse people. Prestashop Metrics is from Prestashop S.A - https://addons.prestashop.com

So far I could read it up on the website there could be more than one with the same name.

addons.prestashop.com sells also third party software sofar I know.

I click the button for this and I just get something went wrong try again, a search in the prestashop modules tells me nothing, it doesnt seem to exist.

I am running 1.7.7.4 on a Centos VPS

The upgrade of the prestashop installation was from 1.7.6.4 with a completely new installation of 1.7.7.3 and all the customizations in child_classic carpet. The new installation of 1.7.7.3 came with the prestashop metrics module included (it was a surprise). After I configured it (get some minutes) the module says I have no Google analytics tag in my page. If I include the tag offered by Google analytics in the head file I get an error 500 in my webpage (without that tag the webpage works). But after install the upgrade of the module this works and get some of the analytics, but my web page disappears with an error 500. The only way to return alive my webpage is to restore a previous backup from my hosting with the module version included in the PS 1.7.7.3.

Don't put it directly on the tpl file. Use the native default Google Analytics module where you just have to paste your UA- code.

I had to take off de UA tag from the tpl file because it generates an error 500. But when I upgrade to the new version of the Google Analytics module it says there is no tag, and also my webpage disappears with an error 500.

It is good that you removed it from the tpl, you shouldn't put it there directly. You should put it using the Google Analytics module. Once you configured it in the GA module, you say your website has an error 500. Have you tried to enable debug mode to see what error you get?

I had a similar problem with the Google Analytics module. It was solved by itself during night. I guess it takes time to update everything on both sides.

This seems like an issue with the "Feature Products" module. Does the website also break if you disable that module?

Finally I have deactivated the metrics module to get the website working well.

I can see those and more analytics directly in Google analytics page.

PS version 1.7.7.2, module version 2.2.1, getting the Something went wrong. Try again. in every table on the module page. Also can't connect the module to Google Analytics, the button to connect GA on the settings page in the data sources section does not show up. Contacted the developers, hopefully they can give some insight on what is going on.

Hi..

I have a little problem.

I Link my store on PrestaShop Metrics but I had to delete everything (files and database) and start over because I made several mistakes.

...and one of those mistakes is that I forgot to unlink the store.

...so i installed my prestashop store again but when i try to link it again i have this problem.

How can i solve this now?

Weirdest thing. I have metrics installed, configured correctly, no issues.
However... the dashboard is blank, and if I click on the metrics link in the admin menu under stats, the page is just blank.

I'm about ready to chuck in the towel with Metrics, never to go back.

Anyone had a blank page? It was working fine yesterday. Today its broken. Reinstalled it, same story. Sigh.

Checked Php version and I'm running ver 7.4 - I'm going to try 7.3 then 7.2 to see if that solves the problem, will report back.

Downgrading to Php 7.2 and debug mode shows no errors, so that's fine - but... Metrics is still blank page.

Thanks Dragon, all requirements are met. Curl and simpleXML are the only ones I can't see on the extensions list.

I just checked, when I uninstall Metrics, now the standard stats don't show either.
On;y thing I'd done differently is install OpenGraph (facebook pixel requires microtags), I disabled it, but I still have the same problem with metrics / normal stats not showing on the dashboard.

Uninstall Facebook pixel and I bet metrics works, that's what my problem ended up being

Ok... is the whole dashboard blank or only the metrics section? Check if this is your problem as well:

Thanks, I'll have a look. It's only Metrics that is blank, everything else works fine. Dashboard is fine, except for Metrics not showing.

Seems PrestaShop Eventbus module is making some problems - strangly enough in debug mode it shows no error however for example while trying to change order status I get information like "Unexpected error. [InvalidArgumentException kod 0]: Unsupported Sentry DSN scheme: ". After disabling it metrics do seem to work and no errors so far for 1 day. I believe if you do not like adrenaline you should avoid metrics. From the begining on PS1.6 I had problems with this module and now on 1.782 still some issues.

Sometimes solution is faster than expected - a new eventbus module just occured and changelog says it was the problem:
