Fronke49
Hi, I need to create a connector with Prestashop to synchronize orders and product with my client's ERP software. I'm not super experienced with Prestashop but I do have a good knowledge of e-commerce through Magento. The problem is that another company is managing my client's Prestashop website and it seems like this company is trying to hack Prestashop configurable products in order to create configurable bundles. They want to sell configurable bundles (pack of 3 products where you can choose each product). I understand that Prestashop bundles are not configurable. But instead of installing a module (like this one for exemple: https://store.webkul.com/Prestashop-Bundle-Products.html), this company has created a configurable product with 3 attributes (Option 1, Option 2, Option 3) and with products as text attribute values (10 products available per options). This system is creating 10*10*10 different products in the catalog, with their own SKU and their own stock quantity. Managing all thoses attributes options and text values (not linked to actual products) seems to be a nightmare but this part is not my problem. Do you guys agree that it's a terrible idea ?! Because that architecture is a total non-sense to me. I can't manage stock properly or pick order's products in the warehouse since I have a unique ID for all each variation in my order lines. I would like to say to them that they're doing it wrong but since I don't have enough experience in Prestashop I wanted to ask the community first. What do you think about all this. Is there something I might be missing here ? Thanks a lot for reading my post and I hope I was clear enought.
