CMS Editing boxes not visible in back office (1.7.7.0)

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Hoping someone might be able to help me with an issue I am having. In the back office when going on to a page or module with a CMS box to edit the box for editing is not visible. I cant select or type or anything. When the page first loads it appears for a flash but then is gone. The content is visible on the store front I just cant amend or edit the content at all.

On version 1.7.7.0

PHP 7.3

Host: Ionos

Any help to resolve this would be massively appreciated as I am at a loss as to what to do.

Originally I thought it might be an issue with the theme but its still the same if I remove the theme etc... I have also tried removing all other modules that I had set up to see if it was a conflict at all but nothing.

Thanks

Becky

Thanks @darkin, this is happening on all modules with a CMS text box though, even the theme modules themselves.

I am really stuck on this as I cant update any of the CMS boxes which I do need to get done to get my shop finished. The people who I bought the theme off have said it is a module clash and so I have removed all of the unused modules from prestashop and made sure they are gone from the FTP too but I cannot for the life of me get this sorted.

Any more ideas?

1. Can you still change the product descriptions?

2. Did you check for javascript errors?

Thank you for this, I cannot edit product descriptions at all. When the page loads it is there for a split second but then the box disappears.

Haven't yet checked for Javascript Errors (I am pretty novice at this) but will have a look at how to do this now and report back 🙂

Really appreciate your help

Type F12 or Fn-F12 in your browser. At the top half of the page a window (the console tab) will open that shows javascript errors.

Is this what you mean? I can see there are errors, one related to the language which I think may be the cause?

It looks like it failed to load some files. See my annotated picture. TinyMce is the software that powers these editing windows.

As you see it fails to download the gb.js language. My suggestion is to copy en.js in that directory to create gb.js.

The other 404 problem, with the stfeature module is less clear to me. It might be a deleted file. Otherwise you might ask its provider.

Anyway, fixing the language file might solve your present problem.
