Am I attempting the impossible?

I've searched through both free and paid prestashop themes and I'm beginning to think PrestaShop can't easily do what I want.

My online store sells neck ties in a variety of designs which can be grouped into categories e.g. Plain, Stripey, Bandana, Floral....

I would ideally like to have a set of images on the home page which each linked to a page containing the products in that category. So the image for Plain ties would link to a page showing Green Tie, Red Tie, Yellow Tie etc.

I can see that I can use a menu down the LHS but I would have preferred something more graphical.

Am I attempting the impossible?

Hi, I don't really understand what you need but it may be that linking the featured categories module on the home page can solve the problem? the panda template I know that this module has and you can put it in a grid

So, you need banners in the home page which and when someone click on them will take them to the corresponding category ?
