This is not true. Slider Revolution 5 was one of the most popular slider module for a long time. If you use Slider Revolution 5 with the older versions of PrestaShop then it will work like a charm. 

 Slider Revolution 6 is the updated version with so many features and flexibility. It has many more templates and addons to make the most amazing sliders for your PrestaShop site. For these awesome features and applications it is more like a separate module. We do not force Slider Revolution 5 users to upgrade to version 6. If you use the older version of PrestaShop then you will be able to use it just fine. Newer versions of PrestaShop has the updated libraries. Slider Revolution 6 is compatible with the newer version of PretsaShop.
