blk2011
Hi Everyone,I am new to Prestashop and just wanted to see if I can get some answers to questions that could help me make a decision to with this product or not. I have been doing research on the various open source ecommerce shop applications for a medium store I am looking to setup and now I am looking at Prestashop. I have read many various positive and exciting things about this product's functionalities and features but I have also read some very freighting stories on this forum and various other sites about security issues and many hacks into shops setup with this program. My questions are:1.) Are there any definitive security guides that can help making sure the applications are locked down as possible once installed.2.) Can I use the shop as a catalog only shop with multiple product associations. For example a customer wants to by a bicycle but I want to offer things like different options for, tyres, handle, seats and so on?3.) Can I take orders online and process the payments offline?4.) Can the shop cope with high volume transactions and do I need a dedicated server for this?I have look at the admin console on the demo site and looks simple and clean which I like but I am really worried about the security issues.Br,Blk2011
tomerg3
1) PS is very secure, and there are constant security test being done, not sure what you read, but most website hacks happen because a password was compromised rather than an exploit in PS2) Catalog only usually mean you cannot purchase anything, not sure if that's what you mean, but you can assign accessories to products.3) Yes, check out this module http://www.presto-changeo.com/en/payment-modules/65-offline-credit-card.html4) Yes, if you expect more than 10,000 monthly visitors, I suggest getting a VPS server
