Tom Cobb
I am new to PrestaShop, but a reasonably experienced developer. I am trying to help a client migrate to PrestaShop. There are many products that basically consist of information but have an option to receive as either access to content digitally or on a physical medium (CD DVD book...). I have read the documentation on creating "standard" vs "virtual" products. I've also read about "combinations", which seem to be only for multiple variants of a physical product. Virtual products, on the other hand seem to lack combinations. In any case, I am not looking for multiple variants of digital downloads for a single product. I want to know if PrestaShop allows for a single product to be delivered as either a physical object or a digital download. Thank you for any help you can give this somewhat confused newbie.
ExcelB
The problem is, that it doesn't matter what the EULA says, it doesn't matter what your country's law says, and it doesn't matter what Microsoft says, you can't possibly own games, because ultimately what games are is information, and information is just that much different from physical property. This is very similar in my point of view to what the question is.
Tom Cobb
Thank you for your reply ndiaga. I did look at the product pack option. As I understand it, having both versions of the product associated as a pack would mean that the customer would only have one option which is to both get the physical medium in the mail and have access to the digital download. Please correct me if I have misunderstood, but if so then customers might want to just get the product digitally and not have something mailed to them that they are not going to use. It seems like basically the only option is to have two of each product, whether bundled as a pack or not. Hmmm.... Thanks for helping me get this figured out. I appreciate it.
