Selling Digital Items Customers cannot set up account and says carrier not available

New to Prestashop.  Not real technical.  I am selling digital items and have had customers tell me they cannot set up accounts.  But some can because I have made a few sales.  The other thing when they try to buy it says carrier not available. Since I am selling virtual products I have not set up anything for shipping.  But once again it has worked for some.  Could this be a setting on their computer and how they do it.  But the carrier sounds like it is asking for shipping.  Do I need to set something up and just say free shipping

Hi, also new to this program. Also, have a "digital" product that needs to skip the shipping system. I can't seem to find a way to set that in the product or anywhere else.

I finally just set myself up as a carrier and marked everything that way as if I was the carrier.  Don't know if that is the correct but haven't had a problem since.  I did have a couple of digital items I was giving away as free and did not have them set up as virutal products but just had a file that they could download in the attachments part.  I also changed them to virtual so don't know if that made a difference also.

It seems that getting any help on OSCommerce or here is impossible so, THANK YOU for responding. It looks like the only way to do the shipping is like you suggest and not worry about the shipping mods.
