Canonical URL when not using combinations

Hi there,

I have a newbie question regarding canonical urls.

I'm setting up a clothes store. I don't want to use combinations for colors, meaning one different product per color. So I need to set one product as "default". i.e the black t-shirt will be the canonical for the grey and white one.

I can't find a simple way to to get {$product.canonical_url} calculated if id_type_redirected is not null. 

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

hello, take a look at this module I think it can help for what you need because it does not show the combination in the url

Hi, unfortunately, this does not solve my issue.

I'd like to use product.id_type_redirected to dynamically calculate canonical_url for product pages.
