How should I do to truncate the name of the accessories?

Hello,
I need the name of the accessories to appear only in two lines.
I take the truncate configuration from the product list.

How should I do it?
I've seen to do it using .css but it doesn't work, it enlarges the product container to put the name on one line, instead of truncating it.
On another site they talk about doing it in tpl, they don't say how to do it, I have tried but my knowledge does not reach more.
Can you help me?
