prestashop Guest table very large

Hello,

 

Any idea if the guest table can be emptied please? What it is used for?

I see over 6 000 000 rows.

Just like connections it is a statistics table that can grow very big and that you can empty it if you aren't interested in the information it contains.

Have a look at its content to see whether you find the information interesting.

This can really slow down a website, isn't it

 

If I delete such data, will there be any other related tables which may break?

Nothing will break, that data is used only in the Prestashop statistic modules in Dashboard.

If you don't need those module (visitors, sales etc) you can safely empty the guests and connection tables and rely on Google Analytics or similar.

Guests is marginally used for returning visitors without account to retrieve an abandoned cart or similar info, not that important maybe either.

Or, you could export these table to archive them before emptying them so you can extract that info if you later find you need it.

Please do not delete the tables. Just empty them.
