Retrieving product attributes for "out of stock" alert.

Hello All,

I find current version of "out of message" email alert very inconvenient. If product has any property (like 'color' or similar) it's unclear which combination is "out of stock". Maybe somebody could show me how such information could be retrieved? I believe changes should be done in modules/mailalerts/mailalerts.php -> hookUpdateQuantity() function but I'm not sure if $params has sufficient information.

stock alerts are very necessary to keep watch on daily up/downs in the market, Please recommend me a place where i can all info just at one place.
