http 500

hi, all,

just installed 1.7.7.1 and every little change i make in the admin panel results in admin panel and site no longer working, returning error http 500: "page does not work. at the moment, example.com cannot process this request. http error 500. retry".

changes made: disable non default language / currency - error http 500, update module in module manager- error ttp 500.

only option to make this work is to uninstall and reinstall prestashop.

i'm using opencart right now and just wanted to give prestashop a try but not really getting anywhere with it so far if it stops working all the time like this.

would appreciate any advice as to what might be going wrong here, thank you! 

 

later edit: sorted by my webhost, by changing some directives, opcache.revalidate_freq = 0, opcache.validate_timestamps = on, opcache.save_comments = on
