Andrew H
Hi -I know this probably seems like a silly question but how do I edit meta tags/html on the home page? Usually I'd just open up the page in dreamweaver but with the the DB back end I'm guessing it's more complex. I have a .com site and want to add some meta data relevant to the UK and also to add the google verification code here.thanksAndrew

It's mostly working ok at the moment so (for now) a bit too nervous to upgrade to V1.1 however tempting the new features are! -any other quick workaround for version 1 in the meantime?many thanks

sherlyroger86
Well, it is very easy to edit the meta tags. You have to just make changes in its source of page as per your need. You can change the source page more than once also if needed.
DeltaMike
Thanks but how is that done? I've been on the Home Page Editor and clicked the Source but there are no meta tags showing.
P2Webdesign
I have done the same: Edited homepage Meta data in Preferences - SEO/URLs (index.php) BUT! the home page title or any meta data enter DOES NOT shows up on the site. i.e. www.mysite.co.uk WHY! Tried editeding header.tpl but of course it changes ALL the pages meta data..... I suppose what we want to know is WHY when you have change the meta data in BO Preferenceds does it not show on home page within the source code. Damn frustrating to be honest! Thank Fred Does someone got any answer or clue about how to solve this? for me is the same, all search engines results about my site just show CMS content (guess from footer as H4 content). The thing is that, more over in the index page, there is nothing but featured, so no H2 description or something to fill the search engines description for the results. But also in categories or product's pages as there are no h2 tags.

DRCPanama
Hello, I know this question has been asked before, but I want to precede this by saying that we are marketers, not programers, so we are not able to read html or do any programming like tweaking code on templates - yikes, we would crash the site! We would like to know how to set the home page meta tags in version 1.6.0.6. Can someone please give us some help as this is frustrating the hell out of us trying to figure out where on earth we can find this tool! Strange that the developers have not put this somewhere really obvious as its the most important Meta Tag on the whole site! Many thanks indeed for anyone who can come back to us with a simple (marketing style) explanation!
DRCPanama
Good news! After a little searching I found the answer and it worked! Head over to this page on the Prestashop Training under SEO and URL preferences. I have now managed to change the meta tag for the home page and will check to see if its appearing on the search engines correctly. http://doc.prestashop.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=20578464
