how to display shopping cart on payment module

We will like to display the shopping cart in the payment module as a sort of final confirmation for end customer. For example on the bankwire module, we try to add the following code to the payment_execution.tpl template file

we did get the shopping cart showing, but without the variables, here is a screenshot

can i check to see how can i retrieve the variables of all the shopping cart?

i guess the variable to extract from will be cart.php, but seem like too much a task to hack the code

is there any simpler way to add a hook to display the cart or something? if not we might need to give this a miss
