i want to have access to a specific category from modal.tpl

so after the user adds a product to his cart he gets the modal page that the product was added to the cart, what i want to do is edit the modal.tpl file and ask the user if he wants to order another product from a specific category and display the products on the modal, so the way i think to do it is to find the controller for modal.tpl file and give it access to the category object which i'm not able to do because i couldn't figure what controller to override, this is urgent and i apreciate any help thank you
