While upgrading 1.4.8 to 1.4.11, system compatibility check failed: Asking Mysql support on

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have my ecommerce website running for around 10 year.  I used software from the cpanel to install Prestashop 1.4.8. The web is hosted on commercial hosting service.

A week ago, suddenty the web doesn't work anymore. I asked the technician of the hosting service what might be the problem. They said that they just upgraded their PHP  7.4. Therefore, I plan to upgrade them to 1.7.  But, the cpanel only provides an upgrade to 1.4.11.  So I thought I will gradually upgrade the prestashop version.

In my attempt to upgrade to 1.4.11, when I tried to do upgrade using the cpanel, during the system compatibility check, it failed. It showed that one of the PHP parameters  is miss configured. It asked the system to enable support to mySQL.

I cloned the system to my laptop (wamp server, apache 2.4.41, PHP 5.5.35, msql 5.7.28). But the same problem (system incompatibility) arose.  I could not find any thread on the internet that discuss this problem. Could anyone help me in this matter. Or if anyone could suggest another way to safely upgrade directly to 1.7? Any response would be much appreciated.
