I want the e-mail templates in connection with the status to be sent out manually, not automatically, so If the status has change, I want to send out an email manually. I want this with all kinds of payment methods. Can you help me?

I want to set a new status by default for each order. Also available for cash and check module. I want the default new status not to send email. What should I rewrite in paymentmodule.php so that the other two modules do not overwrite the status when I place the order?  I would like to send manually (status change)  the cash and check module template with the status change.
