Editing the Default Theme for Prestashop 1.6 and Prestashop 1.7

I wish to edit the default prestashop theme to adjust some of my requirements.  I need to edit both prestashop 1.6 and 1.7 theme. For both version, i need to change the product view size on the home page. I need to make them smaller so that more products can be listed on the home page. 

And, for, Prestashop 1.6 - There is a custom text input field on the product page where buyer can put some text depending on her requirements. But, on Prestashop 1.6 the field is shown at the bottom of the page which is very cumbersome. I need to move it to the top right below "add to cart" section or around there somewhere. 

Can anyone kindly give me a suggestion on that. Thank you
