How to set up discount rule that exclude VIP group

Hi,

I want to set up the following discount rule but don't know an easy way of doing it.

I have a VIP group that can enjoy 25% discount on all purchase. When we have discount of a category, e.g. 10% discount for fruit spread. If a bottle of spread is $30, all customers can buy it for $27 (10% discount) but VIP customer can buy it at $22.5 (25% discount without the extra 10% discount). How do you set this up? Can someone give me a step-by-step instruction. Thanks.

1. You go to back office than -> Shop parameters -> Customers settings -> Groups (tab) . Here you create "VIP" group and add your clients here ( you need to select a client from "Invited" "client" groups and modify selected clients - choose those you like to see in vip) 

If you like all VIPS has 25% discount for all products:

2. Go to backoffice -> Catalog-> Discounts. Here you add 25% discount, but dont forget to see and understand all tabs and params (play with it).

In you case, you need to Conditions (Tab) and select "Customer group selection" and then Actions->Apply discount  and here you add your 25%.

If like to apply only for some products:

Go to your product you like to apply discount only for VIP:

Catalog->Products-> [select your product] -> Pricing (tab) ->Add specific price (button). And choose you params ( you choose for VIP group)

What if I want to set a discount for a product category, say 10% for all pet food but I want to exclude this discount for the VIP group (since they already enjoy the 25% discount and I don't want to let them have any more discount). How can I set that up? Please advise. Thanks.
