rcsa
Hello, I'm totally new to Prestashop and in the process of configuring my shop. So far I like it because of its ease of use. Anyways, I had no problems with the weight based shipping prior to me configuring the quantity discount. I have the shipping configured correctly with the zones, weight ranges and stuff like that and everything was okay. I already deleted the quantity discount but I'm still getting an error. Say when I add 1 product the shipping rate is at the highest range and when I add more of the same product the shipping fee seems to be right. Only when the quantity is 1 do I get an error in shipping fee. I've tried everything, searching the forums but can't find the right answer. I'm using version 1.3.6.Would really appreciate any help of what I did wrong. Thank you!
Dave L
Sounds like the product weight is falling outside of the defined weight range and you have the Carrier Out of Range behaviour set to 'Apply cost of the highest defined range'.Even if the product weight is lower than declared weight range the highest value will be applied. If this is the case you would need to adjust your weight range or set the Carrier Out of Range behaviour to 'Disable Carrier'. The latter is not a fix but would show the 'There is no carrier that delivers to this address' message. Best fix the weight range.
rcsa
Thank you for responding. I did try to disable the carrier out of range behavior just in case that's the problem then when I add again the product it says 0 shipping cost. But I don't think that the weight is out of range even though I did not disable the carrier's out of range behavior because the product is at the lowest weight range and when I add a quantity of 1 to the cart the highest range still applies but when I add 2 of the same products it seems that the shipping is okay. I did try also to change the weight of the product to the second weight range and it seems like it's working fine though but I don't want to start the weight ranges to 40g. The first weight range is 0g-20g but it's not reflecting to certain products but other products are okay. This is so confusing.
rcsa
I just solved my problem after almost 2 days of trying to figure it out. It's with the weight ranges. In my case:0g - 20g = $2.4921g - 50g = $3.49Notice that the second range I started with 21g instead of 20g that's why every time I add an item with 20g weight the shipping cost is high because it's out of range. Plus I've seen the screenshot in Prestashop Wiki how they did the ranges and voila. Now I can move on and start listing.Thank you, Dave, for taking the time to help. Dave L
I am happy that you got it sorted and it is working for you. It's just a shame there is so little information about the shipping aspects of Prestashop.Regards,
