1.6 Images not responsive, please help!

I’ve got version 1.6.1.24 installed, there are 9 images 1400x726 on the homepage which are not responsive. Please advise how to make those 9 images responsive.

Would I be able to do this by editing the html code or will I have to edit the CSS file?

I’ve attached a snippet of the html below for reference, if its not possible to do this via html, please advise how to do via CSS.
