smarty cache full that send offline the website. Prestashop 1.6.1.4

Hello,

we have some problem with the smarty cache option. Everytime that we able this option (as the pic) the website stop to work after some days and we must to cancel the smarty/cache folder to make it work. Someone know why there is this problem with this option and folder? thanks

I never heard this problem before. Are you sure it isn't that you have a small disk? Note that other applications may need some free space.

How can i check the space? Throw the panel of our vps i can see that is of 240 gb the disk and the site is almost 4 gb. Thanks

In that case it must be some peculiar property of your server.

Did you check for error messages?

You write that the website "stops to work". Try to be more specific. Does the front side work? Does the backoffice work? Does everything freeze or can you still browse? What says your vps panel say about memory, processor and disk use? One of the options is that this is just some random Prestashop bug that is "fixed" by emptying the cache.
